![]() Finally, there'll be a window reporting on your success or lack thereof. #Maxqda import document codeRemember, code memos are where you store your code definition, but each code can only have one memo, so you have to choose which one to keep. The third box will ask how you want to handle differences in segment size, whether you want to import variables, document memos and code memos. ![]() The next box will list the codes and the number of coded segments that will be imported. After clicking on the file, you'll see a dialog box that matches the appropriate documents from the.MAX file and the file you're merging it into. You'll be prompted to navigate to where you saved your file. Then open the project that has my memos, right-click on "Documents," and select "Teamwork" again, and then "Import Teamwork". Now, that it will be saved within a.MAX file extension. When you select "Export Teamwork," you'll have an option to select which codes you'd like to export, which isn't relevant for this example, and then you can navigate to the location where you'd like to save the file. Open the project with your memos, right-click on "Documents" in the document system window, and select "Teamwork" towards the bottom of the menu. Let's say that now you'd like to continue working with that file, but you'd like to bring your own memos into it. ![]() Then when we discussed developing codes and definitions, you downloaded a file which had memos that I wrote on a number of stories including awkward lunch. A short while ago, you wrote memos on awkward lunch. I know this seems complicated, so let's start with a simple example. So when you import it into a file that does contain the primary data, it will sort all of those elements of the analysis to where they belong. They contain all the references to the primary data, where all the memos encoded segments belong, but not the primary data itself. ![]() Note: NVivo Support team is unable to convert a project so it can be opened in older versions of NVivo.Exporting and importing teamwork differs from merging because the teamwork files don't include the primary data. You may be able to export your project data (with some limitations) to REFI-QDA open exchange format (more information about this is found in How can I import/export a project from/to other QDA programs such as Atlas,ti, maxQDA, Dedoose etc? ) You can then import this data into NVivo 12 format. However, if you are an NVivo 12 user and you have opened your project in the new NVivo, there is a limited workaround that allows you to re-open your project in NVivo 12. #Maxqda import document updateSo please check for updates (NVivo start screen - File – Product info – check for updates) and make sure that everyone in the team has the latest update installed. This means that projects created in release 1.6 (and following) cannot be opened in any earlier version. ![]() In January 2022 an update to NVivo 1.6 was released, which updated the database version installed with NVivo. You are using the latest version of NVivo and still receive the error? #Maxqda import document macThat means if you have done work in new NVivo - Windows or NVivo - Mac project, you will not be able to open it in an older copy/version of NVivo that you might own. Projects from the latest version of NVivo cannot be opened in older versions of NVivo such as NVivo 12 or NVivo 11. The latest version of NVivo was released in March 2020, it supersedes NVivo 12. ![]()
